I never worried about myself. I told them, constantly that I was where I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do. That if I died, I died doing what I loved.
My last trip my ex brought my kids to the send off. She was crying, hugged me and told me "say the word and I'll drive you to Canada, right ...

Re: The Hardest Part of Deployment for Moms
We heard from our boy today. Thank you so much for all the well wishes. I'm grateful for the prayer and support of other Ranger moms, whom I've gotten to know.
Rangertough, thanks for your answer about the media coverage. I guess I should have realized. Stupid media.

Re: The Hardest Part of Deployment for Moms
Thanks everyone. We are still waiting for word, but hoping that no news is good news. Three of my children helpfully came down with the flu and 102+ fevers yesterday, so I have my distraction.

The Hardest Part of Deployment for Moms
Today was supposed to be a good day--my husband and I are celebrating 19 years of marriage. I was out running a few errands, grabbed some lunch at a drive thru, and then the news came on the radio. Six of our own, killed. My son is there. I have no idea where he is. I pray that it is not him. And ...

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
I don't disagree at all our family seems to breed men with a strong urge to fight. I come from a long line of military and my husband served 22 years as a fighter pilot. He and my sons would never agree to leave. It is just my womanly instinct to want to preserve my home and children.
But in my ...

Re: Barack Obama blunders again on the world stage
I was just reading this story and thinking that it only adds to the embarrassment that our own media ignores his mistakes, while it is being reported abroad.

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
We watched Dr. Zhivago this weekend. Unintentional irony. We were looking for an escape and it is about the bolshevik revolution and the futility of trying to fight against it. It was depressing. My husband says he is picking the movies from now on. LOL

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
I don't even care what happens to Petraeus. I just want him to tell what he knows. It's the least he could do.
I had another thought, somewhat unrelated, but I have wondered if all these "scandals" being brought to light recently regarding high ranking officers and military officials have to do ...

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
I still think the whole thing started because they didn't want us to know what the CIA was really doing in Benghazi and has all snowballed on them because they are incompetent idiots.

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
Just watched Dianne Feinstein on FOX. Either she is not "all in". Or she thinks this not going to end well and is trying to figure out how to save her own butt.

Re: Petraeus Resignes as CIA Director
I posted about this in a different thread, but I'll add my thoughts here, now that I've calmed down and can type straight. Reports are circulating that the ambassador was a CIA operative running guns to Syria to assist the rebel uprising, which, by the way includes members of Al Quaeda who are also ...

Re: Leaks, Lies, Libya...Lack of Leadership
I came over here for a little sanity. I've been duking it out with liberal friends on facebook and my head is about to explode over the sheer stupidity.

Re: A Ranger Qualified Ranger
Congratulations Ma'am to his family, you & your son.
I had to go back to your post of March 15th, 2011, 9:01 pm to decipher your title.
A better title might be: A Scrolled Ranger gets his Tab but I'm just an observer Ma'am.
Happy Mother's Day tomorrow Ms Marla.

A Ranger Qualified Ranger
My son graduated Ranger School last month. The whole family enjoyed the Ranger demonstration at graduation and had a good couple of days with him before he headed back to battalion.
He was very relieved not to be stuck in recycle waiting for the best ranger competition!
Thanks again for the words ...
