Re: Grenada Hero or ????

Ranger RRDTm3,

Glad you guys finally realize how much courage it takes to jump into a sunny friendly DZ with girls, cold beer and a parking lot with your car in it. :D

Regards,
Mark

Re: Grenada Hero or ????

Ranger Zonk,

I do appreciate the humor. The PJs and Golden Knights are 100% confirmed. The PJs were all from the 129th ARS and I knew several of them personally. I jumped with them at Marina CA at the civilian DZ called Skydive Monterey Bay. It is the old Ft. Ord Army airfield. I begged, but they ...

Re: Grenada Hero or ????

Ranger ma91c1an,

Well, your articulate logic, unfailing courtesy and explanation of your mission goals are finally getting through my thick skull.

I was wondering why you guys were getting so torqued about a pathetic boaster who you could so easily ignore and you were wondering why I was ...

Re: Grenada Hero or ????

Ranger Cams,

I hear you. I take your valid criticism seriously. I don't like getting more information than I give, but I know of one instance where a guy posing as a Special Forces vet got badly beat up by some real ones. Alcohol was involved so maybe tempers were less controlled than they ...

Re: Grenada Hero or ????

Ranger ma91c1an,

Thank you for that detailed on point reply. I have been criticized by my friend for even questioning this guy's story since I am not a vet. I am pretty sure that real heroes wouldnt mind having their stories checked out.

You have now convinced me that the guy is a poser, but I am ...

Ranger I Don't Care,

I think just one poser not two. I am pretty sure Hadfield was a real Ranger. He never bragged about anything at all, you had to ask him. He later became as USAF PJ in the 129th Rescue Squadron and I had him lead me on a tour of the entire unit at Moffett Field in uniform ...

Ranger I Don't Care,

I haven't posted his name. He is a friend of a friend of mine and I don't want to be responsible for the "hero" getting some "personal training" from a real Ranger.

My friend (ex military himself) says that the "hero's" story about jumping into Grenada from 500 ft with a ...

Ranger JTLW!!!

OK, I think I am learning the site protocol. I don't want to call BS on a genuine hero, especially one who can kill five enemy soldiers by hand... so I will await more specific responses denying the truth of the guy's story and until then just remain a quiet skeptic.

Thanks for the ...

have you determined from his Grenada story "facts" that this guy is a poser rather than heroic Ranger?

Grenada Hero or ????

I am not a Ranger but I need some Ranger related info and hope you guys can help me out. I have no military experience, but am a skydiver, have made a few Herc and HALO jumps, made S/L jumps from smaller acft too many years ago, and something just sounded fishy about this story. The jumping S/L from ...

Grenada Hero or ????

I am not a Ranger but I need some Ranger related info and hope you guys can help me out.

A local guy who claims to be an ex Ranger says he jumped at 500 ft from a C 130 into Grenada (believable) and immediately upon landing single handedly killed SEVEN enemy soldiers manning a 30 cal machine gun ...
