SITREP- Ty

Post by TyDolla » October 6th, 2019, 10:11 am

Thursday I “Turn Blue” and Friday I graduate Infantry OSUT. I will be in pre-RASP next Monday, I’m looking forward to the next set of challenges presented to me. My current PT scores are 70 push ups, 70 sit ups and a 12:35 two mile. OSUT was hard in some aspects but easier in others. For example, rucking sucked for a while because my body wasn’t used to it. However, the program is tailored for the guy who sucks at everything so that he can get better. It’s unlikely you’ll improve your PT outside of running if you are already in good shape unless you put in extra work consistently. Anyway, I’m ready to crush whatever lays ahead of me. I’m not giving myself a “way out” of this, being a Ranger is the one thing I want more than anything else in life. Pain is only temporary and in the words of my former 2/75 Drill Sergeant “You better get over that shit”.

Good Sitrep, Ty. Sounds like you have your head screwed on correctly. Stay focused on your goal and always give 100% in whatever you do. Remember what Ranger Jim use to say, Never, Never quit!!!

Ty, great accomplishments so far. PT hard. You should have a little more "Free" time in Pre-RASP I hope. So check in with us here and on Discord to say hello. Be proud of what you have done but also know some real challenges are ahead and prepare yourself.

Just another update, I’m currently a holdover at my training company. I’m not sure how long I’ll be stuck here but I’m making sure to PT hard and often. Tomorrow I’m participating in an RPFT ran by the Ranger School cadre. I’ll let y’all know how I do.

Still a holdover at my training company, the Army lost my medical records so that has to be dealt with before proceeding to pre-rasp, I’ll keep posting updates as time goes by.

Sorry to hear about your records. Hang in there it, they will get it together. It’s a good time to study and get your pt scores up.

Agreed. Leverage the time you have and get what you can from it. Wont be the last time the Army screws you over... that sucks though. Did you have any med waivers to get into the military?

Ranger Disinfertention I didn’t have any medical waivers, I was held over because the Army lost my records and found them last Monday. I did get word from one of the NCO’s here at Airborne hold that all the RASP guys go to pre-rasp Monday morning.
