I see your diarrhea all over the board in my absence today......You are now in my AO.......
Refrain from asking dumbass questions.
Cuz I am feeling nice......Ranger Batts use the Beretta 9mm.....some military units still use the 1911. The only 1911 you are likely to see in Batt is someone's personal one, or *maybe* if there is still some stashed in an arms room.

Re: Colt 1911A1
It is still used by some units as an option and some as a their primary pistol. I currently carry one as a part of my kit, and some other teams do as well. .45ACP Ammo is no longer on the STRAC so it is usually local purchased or ordered. I remember right before I left the Regiment, Chuck P. and the Force Mod guys were working on a deal to provide the Regiment with that option. The planned was scrapped because of the Ammo issue.Absolute Zero wrote:Is the 1911A1 really fully retired or is it still optional for use?

Roger that! However, the use of issued sunblock while dreaming of horizontal refreshment keep those callouses to a mininum. Thanks to all Ranger Buddies sending over visual aids in defiance of Islamic Law!Desert Sloth wrote:I have a calloused right hand...but it ain't from shooting so much...at least a gun!!Bell wrote:Do the boys on that special team at SF still use .45's? They use to brag about the callous on the web of their hand from firing the thing so much. And they were very very good with the damn things.
