No Sir, you don't. If you read it correctly, that response, albeit about you, was not directed at you but at Ranger Chiron with a little bit of humor thrown in.Trident wrote:No I dont think I own the place and I realize i'm a guest. I'm not here to defend Bobo 6, he's his own man and can stand on his own 2 feet.
The question of why wait was in direct response to your own statement of waiting until after you got promoted.
Any of us who have ever joint-op'd or ever trained with the USN know what a rank structured environment it is when it comes to seniority.
The follow up point that was made in response to that was an FYI for your benefit.
YOU NEED TO LIGHTEN UP A FEW NOTCHES.......SIR and watch your mouth while you're at it.

One thing that we need to understand is that there is always a bit of humor thrown in that comes with the tense work most do.
I have been to Coronado and spent the preverbal one-month playing in the beach (no pun intended) and will not attempt at comparing SEAL/Rangers we are two different things. Nevertheless, we strive to complete our missions and often lately seem to be working somewhat together or at least in the same AO.
I have been out of the loop yes but this is old news. We each have our own missions and can each (as units) gain from each other’s experience.
Enough said.

When did you do ILC?trident86 wrote:If you read any later reports, SEALs were on the beach long before Marine Recon made their debut on CNN's cameras. Recon, in a brief moment of originality, told reporters they were SEALs to shift fire off of themselves. Not a bad piece of tactical deception on their part, but I guess not everyone heard the whole story.Smiddy wrote:You forgot the mission compromise part, and we all watched them swim ashore on CNN amidst a shitload of cameras.
I can't comment on the similarities/differences between the two pipelines, since I've never been through RIP or Ranger School. Incidentally, I'm surprised you guys haven't pointed out the distinction between the scroll and the rocker for the readers who may not know. I did the Infantry Leader's Course (I know--it does not REMOTELY compare to Ranger School or RIP), and the cadre educated us daily on the difference between those who are Rangers for 8-13 weeks, and those who live it daily.
I er...may have thrown a training aid or two at you.
