That's pretty funny, haven't heard that one before.

Actually, I decided to throw the other 3-4 grand into customizing it, instead of riding a plain, stock big twin like all the biker posers around here do. Their plain jane bike comes out on Saturday, if the weather is nice, and they ride about 75 miles in all the leather and head bandana and pull up to the local biker bar for a beer afterward so they can feel like they're someone. Those are the kind who talk that "won't ride a rice burner" bullshit - but you never see them out when the temp goes below 45 degrees.

Cams, am I mistaken or did I not see a pic of your ride on this thread??? 8) :D

I hear ya on the FAT rear tire. I always wondered how they handle. I use a 190/55 on my bike... the turn in is fast and predictable... then again, my bike is made for turning.

I did a track day in the rain... was only a few seconds off my normal time... amazing what body position and smooth imputs will do for you.

As for riding... I put over 16K miles on my GSXR in less than a year. Last sunday, I did a 375 mile ride... temps were 108 on Ft. Hunter Liggett when we cut through.

My problem is that my bike EATS tires. I get about 2K miles out of the rear, during normal heavy handed street riding... and the Dunlop Qualifiers are smoked after a full track day at Thunder Hill.

This weekend is the MotoGP at Laguna Seca... every Squid from all over the world is here in force... I am parking my bike and letting it sit. CHP is out like mad... stopping everything on two wheels.

Thanks for the input.. nice to know there are some true riders out there... Let me know if anyone is in my area...

Cheers!

There is a group from here going to the GP :D

my buddy has the new Michelins on his R1 and has gotten pretty good mileage out of them

I can’t say I ride much anymore, but have rode a lot in the past and grew up around motorcycles. My dad was a biker back when that wasn’t very cool, he used to let me take spins around the neighbor on some of bikes. Probably not to may 14 YOs that were out there riding a 1942 XA with no license. I think my first ticker ever was coming home from high school on my Sporster with no motor cycle cert :D

Yeah, I am familiar with the Pilot Powers. I used to run them on my Aprilia, and my SV. Havent had them on my Gixxer yet... sticking with the Dunlop Qualifiers. They stick like mad! But, then again... I am pretty heavy with my right wrist, and I really ride aggressively.

I may give the PP's a shot after I smoke this set.

PM me if you are coming to the GP. I will give you my cell number... maybe we can have a pint down on the 'row'.

Cheers!

Was out riding today after class... dodging squids... came across this little place, thought I would snap a pic of the fog rolling in off the coast...
