We may not agree with the content of his site, nor the mindset of this individual, but I don't believe any of us would support threating somebodies life in spite of there thoughts, I hate the KLU KLUX KLAN and all that they stand for and have done against not only my people but innocent civilians, but I never would condone ANYONE to threaten their lives, because each individual has a right to believe and profess what they believe to be right and just in our society as long as it does not infrige on the rights of others.
I had to think about this one for a bit and decide weather I was gona ask this. But please explain that line above to me Bugsy. How many generations has your family lived here? Who really are your people and why?
I will say to everyone here before the shit storm starts that I have the utmost respect for Ranger Bugsy and if anyone can give me an answer I can trust on this it will be him!!
That’s a decent question Ranger, there are several responses I will provide to you.
I reference to my post regarding that asswipe who has probably faked his death because it was gettin a little to hot under the collar, the analogy I was making in terms of "my people" were African Americans who are generally despised by the Klu Klux Klan, I can trace my family back to 1856. I'm sure my ancestors have been in this country longer than that, but I have no way of knowing for certain, (I’m no Alex Haley).
In terms of "who", my people are, that in fact can take many different forms depending on the subject matter.
If you were to say to me in terms of Americans in General "who are your people" I'd say any American who believes in our constitution, the defense of it against any and all aggressors, and supports the laws and general practices in which we as a nation believe in and are governed by.
If you were to say to me "who are your people" in terms of the military I would say primarily the U.S. Army Rangers, "first" in terms of my identifying with the unit in which I served, but I would extend that to all Military Personnel who embody the traits, mindset and commitment to serve with professionalism, courage & determination that I did when I was a member of the Armed Forces.
If I was at home and you asked me "who are your people" I would say my immediate family.
We have talked about race and racial issues within this forum before and quite frankly I'm in no mood to go there again. Racism exists in our country, I've experienced it many times more frequently than I can to think about, however I continue to conduct myself as I believe a man is required to. I take care of my family, I am respectful to others, I believe in holding the door open for any woman who is about to walk through it, I'm old fashioned with many old fashioned values, I believe in supporting my community, I believe in God, I take pride in my work and do the best job that I am capable of doing each and every time I undertake a task. But there are times that ill regardless of who I am, how well a job I do, how I dress, speak or act, that I am treated as if I'm less than, followed around like I’m about to commit a crime in stores, overly scrutinized as if I'm trying to con or be underhanded in some endeavor. Now I'm not sayin in every instance this is a sign of racism, but certainly many of those situations are. My people and who are they, can take on many forms. My people are right here on this board, my people are overseas fighting for our country or in harms way, my people are the men and women who patrol our streets, borders, my people are white, black, brown, yellow (but not fuckin purple, well with the exception of pimp daddy Vee

).
My point is not everybody treats everybody in the same manner for a whole lot of different reasons, my responsibility to "all" of my people is to conduct myself accordingly, as a Ranger I have an even greater responsibility to set the example for others to follow because that is what is EXPECTED OF US, it never changes just because we are no longer "ACTIVE DUTY", if anything it is the training we have experienced, the many obstacles we have overcome, our Ranger Creed in which we live and breathe, and the experiences we have endured, requires each of us to lead and teach by example to others so that we as a nation become stronger overall. As an individual, by doing so I'm able to dispel many of the stereotypes that individuals "with racial biases" may have against people of color, it won't make a difference in everyone, but I'm not concerned with everyone, just each individual that I encounter.
I hope that answers your question or more importantly lets you know "where I'm comin from" Ranger.
(why are "my people" always fuckin with me)
