Dropkick Murphys.

An article about the band and a young Marine recently KIA.

RIP

http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegio ... leid=98539

Lyrics to The Fields of Athenry, the song referred to in the aritcle....

By a lonely prison wall,
I heard a young girl call:
"Michael, they have taken you away,
For you stole Trevelyn's corn,
So the young might see the morn.
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay."
Refrain:
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.

By a lonely prison wall,
I heard a young man call
"Nothing matters, Mary, when you're free
Against the famine and the crown,
I rebelled, they cut me down.
Now you must raise our child with dignity."
Refrain

By a lonely harbor wall,
She watched the last star fall
As the prison ship sailed out against the sky
For she lived to hope and pray
For her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry.
Refrain

The Dropkick Murphy's are good shit if you like irish punk music. The song Spicey McHaggis Jig is great.

"Well Spicey was big, burly, and strong.
His pipes were gigantic and so was his schlong.
From city to city always roamin' around
always lookin for chicks over 400 pounds"

Thanks for the article IntelToad, I have a new level of respect for that band. Thank god for Boston.

Ranger IntelToad,

I am not a huge Dropkick Murphy's fan but I do like their song Drunken Lullabie (sp?)
