Post by Old Philly Guy »

Thanks for the welcome. Just to answer a few questions; living on the coast in SC just outside of Charleston, yeah I'm from S Philly..whats it to ya? :) and no, I hardly talk like Rocky anymore..left Philly when I was 18 and have only gone back to visit every once in a while for the past 25 years or so.

Chuck town ....nothing like it on earth. That place is more like an american city state. Everybody in SC knows that the Ashley and Cooper rivers comes together in Charleston and form the atlantic.

Hey Old Philly Guy - Welcome! You were in 5/14 in the early 90's? I spun out the last few years of my illustrious career in the 25th ID - was the 1SG in B c. 1/21 Gimlets. When I reported there, I asked what the fuck a Gimlet was - always thought that it was a womans drink. But I was told that, no, it's a long Phallic shaped thing, used for boring holes in rock!! Those boys were actually pretty good soldiers.....for dirty legs. At present, the 25th ID and Schofield Barracks is a pretty empty place - split between Afganistan and Iraq.
