The M-14 worked great at distances. In close quarters, I'd take the M-16 anytime.

As to the grease gun......we had a silenced grease gun that was SUPER QUIET but an absolute piece of shit. I watched my Team Leader put at least 15 rounds in the back of a 75 lb NVA (who decided running was better than being taken prisoner) and he was still running the last time we saw him. And the fuckin' gun had spooks. You could put 500 rounds through it at the range with no problems, but it malfunctioned about 75% of the time out in the bush. We ended up trading it to an SF A Team for a pallet of LRRP Rations.
I never wore a cape, but I still have my dog tags.
