Don't believe a fucking word you hear from anyone who hasn't gone concerning SOMC. They usually have no clue what they are talking about.

I never thought I could get so demoralized from the sheer amount of bullshit that Fort Sam puts us through, but I'm trying to keep my eye on the goal. I did an APFT this morning, and I came out to 80 pushups, 84 sit ups, 10 pull ups and a 12:45 on the run, so I'm fairly confident I can make it. I'll do my best to provide sitreps. Thanks for the inspiration Rangers.

Exactly.

Also, when you're giving yourself an APFT, make sure you don't cheat yourself on form.

FORM WILL BE A FACTOR.

I don't believe it.

''dropped from RIP because they have too many medics?''

I'm not buying it.

Great story to tell the girlfriend and the parents though.....

Blue pigs will fly in a frozen hell before there are "too many medics" in a RIP class.

Here's why you ignore all rumours & stories that you yourself didn't witness.
Too many medics?? Nooooo....
Just one too many who couldn't or wouldn't measure up & he quit.
The company you keep matters, but in the end, 'its' within you, if you have it & can reach down deep enough to get 'it'.
Even the perfect PT animals sometimes just can't deal with cold/wet/tired/hungry/the responsibility is on YOUR shoulders/loneliness/doubt.
You won't know if you can until the Day.
And after that, then there's war.

A year passes like nothing, as all us FOGs can attest too well.

Smittyleeb wrote:Thanks Rangers. This guy was no slouch, and I had no reason to not believe him. It made sense to me; if there's a 15 month hold for SOCM (as the Ranger Liason said) then it made sense that there might be alot.

That puts my mind at ease. Thanks Rangers.
You don't know what goes through another man's mind when shit hits the fan. Usually the macho, body builder types are the first to go. Then the shit talking gang banger wannabes. All the folks you think are the studs, end up being worthless.

Meanwhile, little Danny Devito fuckers like me, with a little pot belly, graduate Distinguished Honor Graduate and end up in all the action hero units
