ehhhh.... Well are you ready to go right now? PT wise, can you drop and do 100 pushups, 100 situps and run a sub-12 minute two mile run? That's the sort of PT score that will get you to a Ranger Bn. Can you do that now?
And is there anything else holding you back? family? girlfriend? etc...?
If not, I would say if you can get the option 40 now (and you are physically and mentally prepared for it) then GO FOR IT.

And I knew exactly two people who could do all three of the above.

Let's keep the bullshit away from the DEP's.
