I used to think elections made a difference, not any more. I've been working in the elections industry for 5 years now, and I have to tell you, my views on leadership and political games is so jaded, I constantly see in a shade of green. Do I think my singular vote will help elect or (in most of my voting) keep someone from office? Yes, I know it does because that's what I do, ensure that my county has fair, accurate, and efficient elections.

Do I think that my singular vote matters in the grand scheme of all of our nation's political levels? No, because the decent candidates with the will to make a difference never even come close to getting elected. The candidates that make it have a ton of money, even before they start their campaign funding. They have ties to everything and everyone wealthy. They have or will have the ability to perform favors and pay back favors. Their term in office will be totally occupied performing favors and paying back favors. In addition to that, candidates are fucking stupid. They can't even tie their shoes without and assistant or campaign manager either doing it for them or ensuring it gets done. That's fine, as long as the candidate knows their place, which is to be a figurehead. All the bullshit and problems arise when the candidate suddenly decides that he/she actually graduated 4th grade and can perform tasks and think better than the people who specialize in whatever particular area has aroused their unwanted attention in the first place.

These are my observations at a local and state level. I don't know, maybe federal level politicians can actually think and perform tasks other than padding their wallets and sending their kids to secret rehab centers.

I typically vote against people, by choosing the candidate that I think has the best chance to destroy the candidate that I hate.

Enough of this crap, it's time for lunch.

Hillary was bought and paid for a long time ago. I think this time she has an axe to grind. Too scarey a thought for me!

Obama?..He is kinda inexperienced, then again so was JFK

I really liked McCain in 2000, I mean not only did he serve, but he was a POW and had his plane blow up and survived. What can you say to him? Nothin'! He's definitely paid his dues....but then, the way he just rolled when they knee-capped him in he primary? It stinks. Someone, somewhere has to have dirt on him for him to do that. It would be like someone calling CSM Puck a poser.. (wait.. nevermind.. )

Giuliani?.. Just ask anyone from NYC, especially a FF or Cop from there if they want him.. 'Nuff said.

I like Thompson, always did. Been following his politics since he was elected a senator. he seems the least connected to the machine of the major candidates. I just might vote for him..

In the end does it really matter? I must say the last 8 years have shown me that those in power are going to do whatever they want, no matter what and fuck what the people think. Besides, the electoral college ensures that my vote doesn't mean shit. Even local elections can be fixed.

Fuck it!.. :?

I will NEVER vote for anyone on the DNC ticket - unless they change their platform.

Fred would be the only one on the GOP ticket I think I could bring myself to vote for.

Looks like it's either Fred, Ron Paul, or thrid party.

I've known several MI soldiers who had rather low confidence in General Clark when they worked for him. To me that puts up a giant, blinking, neon "NO" sign.

Interesting info you don't read much about!

A. Enron's chairman DID meet with the President and the Vice President in the Oval Office.

B. Enron DID give $420,000 to the president's party over three years.

C. Enron DID donate $100,000 to the president’s inauguration festivities.

D. The Enron chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.

E. This corporation DID have access to the administration at its highest level and even enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for them.

F. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import Bank subsidized Enron for more than $600 million in just one transaction.

Scandalous! Wouldn't you agree? BUT...the president under whom all this happened was NOT George W. Bush.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE.... It was Bill Clinton!

I ASK YOU, ARE WE READY FOR MRS. CLINTON?????

I'm pullin' for Fred. So far he's the most coservative of the lot although I don't think he has a whiskey bottle's chance at a Ranger Rendevous!
He' been said to be a bit lazy as far as campaining goes. He has a good solid conservative voting record.

My second choice is John McCain. I'm not too keen on the McCain/Feingold Bill but there's not much more left on the slate.

I have a tendency to vote for the most conservative candidate unless he's a known crook. That flaw seems to cross party lines.

No shit? WoW  Nope, never heard about any of that!
I knew he had a fairly well established 'good ol' boy' network, but never suspected it went that far/deep!

I wonder how many more years my tax dollars are going to still be paying for that enron debacle?
