You've been around four years at best. That's not a long time at all. Don't be bad mouthing Ranger Steadfast, young man. I'm going to explain this only once: the Rangers on this site have all been subjected to a background check. Each and every one of them has been validated. We are the ones who close with and destroy the enemy by fire and movemant or fire and maneuver. This is not a place for those who want to dress up and talk. May I refer you to the trophy room where the posers reside. I'm not impressed with you or your attitude. DEPs, please try to get this individual under control.Wawrykow wrote:What's wrong Ranger Steadfast? We've been around for a long time, since 2002 I believe. You really should check it out before you think were just a bunch of fucktards.

You have not earned the right to come here and respond in that manner to an emoticon posted by a Ranger, who is not only a well-respected member of this site, but has done for real what you play. Have a nice day.Wawrykow wrote:What's wrong Ranger Steadfast? We've been around for a long time, since 2002 I believe. You really should check it out before you think were just a bunch of fucktards.

Allright guys, I know that you can do whatever you want here since it is your community, but my original response was taken way out of context. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful at all. I guess that I'm seeing since I wasn't ever a Ranger that I'm going to be vetted very hard, even for very ambigious statements, which once again is your right. I really thought that this would be a cool place to chat about the Army, SOC, current events, and the like. But I guess for non-Rangers like myself, it's better to be neither seen nor heard here. I understand all of you feel a bond that I never will, and I appreciate that too. I only wish I had the oppurtunity to earn your respect.
My attitude here was never negative. I've always been positive, and I will continue to be. I also never meant to even come across as disrespectful, and once again, I'm sorry if I did.
None of this is trying to be critical of your community. It is yours, and I know you are all well aware of that. So once again, I'm sorry for starting any trouble, but I'm not going to get banned from here for anymore innocent statements. I thank you all for your service, and have a great day and good luck with your community.

I have no problem at all with your online gaming unit. I have a major problem with the name you all have chosen for it and the name of your website. I hope that makes sense to you.Wawrykow wrote:I'm sorry that you feel that way Ranger RTO. I really never meant to come on here and get this reaction. I even read others threads (specifically Mariachi) and was determined not to have these negative reactions. If you all feel that my online gaming unit is disrespectful, that I will leave your community if that is what you wish.
Once again, I'm sorry that this has happened.
I wish that I could be a Ranger, Ranger RTO.
Ranger RTO, I guess I can understand it a little bit. Please let me provide a little backround for you guys before you fully judge:
I'm inclinded to think that if you were starting an online unit based on an Army game, and you had to choose a name, you wouldn't choose 1st Infantry, 25th Infantry, 173rd ABN (not that those units dont deserve respect, they do), you would choose the name of the guys who "move farther, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier". It's just a natural move.
Once again, I am sorry that this has occured. I know that I only have respect for you guys. I'll try not to bother your community anymore.
- We play America's Army, so the logical choice for a unit would be a real Army unit.
- We try to live our online lives by the core values. We take them very seriously.
- We ALWAYS capitalize the word Ranger.
- We honor and respect and member of ours who is serving or who has served in the past.
- We take our online names very seriously, and act like human beings while in the presence of others so as to not bring any disrespect on the online Ranger name.

Roger, will do Ranger RTO. Thanks.RTO wrote:You seem like a nice kid. Misguided perhaps, but nice non the less. You are out numbered here and fighting a battle you will never win. I hope someday you can understand why.
You are welcome here, just leave your game at home and don't mention it again, ok?
I'm going to explain a couple of this to you that haven't been hit on yet.Wawrykow wrote:Allright guys, I know that you can do whatever you want here since it is your community, but my original response was taken way out of context. Ranger RTO just hit the big one over all, so here is a couple more.
1) If you would have spent more time reading and researching on this site before you posted, you would have found out in the Board FAQ's how to address Rangers and conduct yourself on this site. You also would have found out that we "do not" in any way shape or form like being called "guy's"!
2) You are not being "Vetted" at all, you are not a Ranger and there is no reason to do so. The verification (Vetting)process here, is to confirm any claims of serving as a Ranger in the US Army.

1. Ranger AbnRgr289, I actually did read the FAQ's and hopefully all of the pertinent threads. I didn't want to address the audience reading this thread as "Rangers", since its possible and likely that were and are some non-Rangers involved in this. I apologize, and I'll fiigure out a more appropriate way to address the mass audience.
2. I understand. Maybe I should have phrased it another way.

Now, back to the beginning. Do you plan on re-joining the Army, if so, do you plan on trying to become a Ranger?

Ranger AbnRgr289, I would really like to rejoin the Army if possible. I'm not sure if it's possible anymore, but I've been trying to find that out for a couple months now. I would need a waiver, but I was approved by my BN commander, it was USAREC that decided to not deal with it. I'm trying to show the Army that I would be a good soldier; I volunteer at the VA, I'm going to finish my college degree, and I've kept my nose completely out of trouble. In fact, I had never been in any kind of trouble my entire life before that.
I would love the chance to prove myself worthy of the Tab, but I'm also not sure if I'm morally qualified for that anymore.
I understand that in the end, I'm responsible for everything that happens to myself, I really did get into a bad situation and I honestly got railroaded. But I'm not here to whine. However, I would be willing to discuss this more in private and listen to any words of advice.

If you are truly interested in re-joining, stick around and lurk, just read and learn. There have been DEP's in the past that have overcome problems similar to yours. I don't have the answers you need but we do have a couple of former Recruiters that stop in here from time to time that may be able to help you.
