I believe I've read SFC Hit_It type several times that he would not be eligible for Option 40 because of the prior service.
Welcome.

They're letting a LOT get by the boards these days. A friends son just finished AIT as an engineer and reported to a reserve unit - with hemophilia.borebrush wrote:your prior service ASVAB? Maybe its all this snot cloggin my noggin, but what the fuck do you mean by that? How old are those scores?

Ulfhedin - if you want it bad enough, I suppose it can be done - but making it all the way into the 75th at 41-42 years will make you a legend.
Can you push the MAX on the PT test in the 17-21 year age group? Repeatedly?
Thing is, us FOGs need longer to bounce back after excertion & the intense pace of RIP and lifestyle in a line platoon will simply not let you have the time for your aged bod to recoup every day.
Some soldiers in their 40s have earned their tabs, but these were career airborne soldiers who didn't have long careers as civilians or in that unionised sister service

I sincerly hope you can give it hell, but you might look to excel by enlisting as an MP to utilise the skill set & experience you have, rather than be Day One failure at RIP.
Someone your age might best look to the "soft skills| like intel, to make the most of your life experience & maturity. You ain't gonna be happy or succesful in a rifle squad of 19 year olds. The Regiment needs these skills as well.
Welcome into the site - some prospects we really didn't think much of made it all the way & earned their places in our Regiment, while others that 'looked good' on these forums just disappeared from the net never to be heard from again - not even to the front gate to RIP.
Now, prove me wrong and make Ranger history!
