Wow, guess no one can (or feels the need to) follow rules anymore.

Sir, with all do respect, without rules we have chaos, chaos leads to anarchy, anarchy leads to detruction......

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you do not want to follow the rules of this site, I encourage you to leave now. We have rules and you not wanting to follow them because "it's your way to do things" isn't going to fly here.

Texas Rangers

Ranger Kilted Heathen,
However in 1845, Texas became one of the United States of America and so did all of her soldiers. The Texas Rangers used mobility and firepower (horses and repeating weapons) to offset their low numbers. They used guerrilla tactics aginst the guerillas. They were organized as Battalions with Privates, Sergeants, Captains, etc, however they had no uniforms due to the Republic of Texas being a low budget country. They engaged in peacekeeping and security missions, which later led to their demise and final absorption into the Texas DPS in the early 1900's. I haven't finished all the books about them yet, but there are similarities to special operations forces.
Maybe only in name-only to modern Army Rangers; probably more like the Jedburgs.

PS-are you a tartan wearer by chance?
