I quit about 3 or 4 years ago. I went to the dentist and she pointed out some pre-cancerous cells in my gums and on my cheek. I went home looked at my 1 year old daughter and decided that I wanted to be able to give her a kiss ( with all of my face ). Not to say that I don't still have one on very rare occasions. Its really tuff there were alot trips down to the conveniance store for a can and I came back with licorice instead. Its all in moderation. Except for beer, I drink that as fast and as much as possible :D

Heres some motivation to help you stay off the juice:
<<The photo to the left is an example of a verrucous carcinoma occurring in a tobacco snuffer. Note the typical appearance of a snuff pouch on the left mandibular vestibule. Also note the gingival retraction and the slight tobacco pigmentation. This patient held the wad on different areas of his mouth but preferred the anterior vestibular sulcus. The photo to the right is another example of a squamous cell carcinoma developing on the mandibular right vestibular sulcus in a long standing tobacco snuffer. Note remaining pieces of tobacco and the teeth pigmentation.>>

One Ranger Mom wrote:Just an FYI:
My dentist said that people who use tobacco should not use teeth whitening toothpaste because that increases the risk of oral cancer.
You mean there are people who use tobacco who actually care about white teeth and cancer???

I dipped that shit for 35 years. It's been seven years since I had a dip. I didn't use nicoret (sp?) or anything else to replace it...just quit. You can do it if you put your mind to it. It's just a little fucking chemical.
Good luck, Bro.
