Xducer I wish you a speedy recovery.

Reading your post in the medical forum your MRI report looks just like my dads. He has severe degenerative disc and his most recent surgery was a fusion in his neck.

You mentioned having a lower back surgery after your recovery. I hope they can just do a discectomy and trim off the excess disc for you.

For anyone facing this type of surgery it ain't all that bad, but hey I'm a bit into crazy stuff so I may not be the right person to ask.
