Go to a boat supply store or Overton's and purchase a dehumidifier. One designed for fricking boats and houses. That's what I use.

How about some moldy weapons of war
Is that shit in your basement? You might want to have someone check out whether you have bigger moisture issues down there.
I live in Georgia & my safe is in the garage. Nothing fancy, and no dehumidifying gear, but I've never had an issue with mold or rust. Are you giving them a light coat of oil before you stow them? If so, what oil are you using? Mold shouldn't stand a chance with it.....

Get an electronic dehumidifier, plug it in and forget the mold and rust.

All my weapons are about ten feet from my computer area. All the hot air generated by multiple posts keeps the moisture awayRangerX wrote:Is that shit in your basement? You might want to have someone check out whether you have bigger moisture issues down there.

Re: How about some moldy weapons of war
Sorry to read that. No humidity here in Utah. In fact, I have to frequently re-oil due to evaporation! Nice collection. I hope you get the issue resolved.TC204 wrote:I can't seem to stay on top of this. This is one of my safes downstairs. I just reactivated a large silica gel dehumidifier and cleaned all these rifles 2 weeks ago. Moldy already! Humidity sucks.
