Not sure about the pushups, or anything else for that matter. All I can say is I am not going to worry about G2ing the course, I will just show up and deal with whatever gets thrown at me.

I have heard about 4-5 rumors about the "new RAP week" from people who just finished Ranger, are still in ...

G2 I got so far is this:

CWST is gone or combined with water-obstacle course.

5 mile run is now part of the APFT and is a release run, time standard is still the same.

Bayonet assault course is gone, and the 2.5 buddy run is replaced with a cross country buddy-run / assault course.

Think the ...

CLS 04-07

Anyone else reporting to Ranger School for class 04-07?

I heard from 03-07 students on leave that there are going to be some new changes to RAP week in order to allow more time for patrolling.

Where are you getting your information from? I spoke directly with someone who is in class 01-07 and he didn't mention any of these changes.

If this is true the run sounds much easier, because now you are running 5 miles while you are fresh, instead of a day after an APFT.

No CWST? Every time I ...

thanks for the welcome...

67 days until I report to Ranger School. I am still pumped that I am getting an opportunity to go.

My goal is to finish, no matter how long it takes me. I would just prefer not to break any records, but hey.... whatever it takes.

Fire Support

What kind of support assets will be available on any given mission? I was taught that Ranger BNs have 60s, 81s and 120s organic. Are these kinds of assets normally available? (notionally w/ arty simulators, flares and smoke grenades). Or are any other indirect fire assets available (105s and 155s ...

OPORDs

Per the advice of several Rangers I picked up a copy of the Ranger Handbook (SH 21-76) to study.
One question I have is:
How important is the scheme of fires to the patrolling OPORDs during Ranger School?

I had an awesome Company Commander who taught me a lot about fire support, and how to write ...

Greetings

Rangers permission to enter your hooch...

I am on my way to Ranger Class 04-07 (January) and I have been lurking around your boards hoping to pick up some information about Ranger School.

I branched Field Artillery after OCS, and since graduating FAOBC I have been an FSO in 1st BDE 2ID Korea.

I ...
