Re: Introduction-WyvernRider117 (WARNING LONG READ)
In the memory of one of our esteemed brothers who just went to the ORP in the sky, let me be the first one to tell you this. We frown upon you using the phrase "Rangers Lead The Way" before you have earned the privilege to do so. You also need to keep you answers as short and sweet as poss...

Re: Helicopter Mom
Epic... Just epic!.. We had a mom like that with one of the privates that worked for me at RTB. When he moved in the barracks, she bought him a wall locker full of food. The craziest shit was that she.. wait for it.... Did his fucking laundry for him! Not even fucking joking! I think they finally to...

Re: Kahr P380
The Sigs twins 238/938 are single action only locked and cocked with an external safety lever. I'd never carry a pistol in my pocket with the hammer cocked and only a safety lever that could easily be switched off without me even knowing it. That's just begging for trouble.. Permission to re-direct...

Re: Kahr P380
Dunno if you are still in the market for a pocket gun, brother, but you might want to consider the SIG 238. I know more than a few people that have them, and hear nothing but good things. It isn't as small or as compact as the Kahr or say Ruger LCP, but the action is identical to a 1911. With a shor...

Re: Introduction-Juan
I actually posted a thread about my height in the RASP section if your curious on that.. You couldn't just tell me your were 5'8", brah? You should be closer to 165-ish and I willing to bet you aren't all lean, mean muscle. As you drop weight, you will get faster. It will take time. You didn't...

Re: Introduction-Juan
If you take 2 years to prep, continuing at your college to get 24 credits, and are able to max your age group in the APFT before enlisting, there should be no reason why you couldn't be a Tabbed E-5/Sgt. in 2 1/2 to 3 years.

Re: Introduction-Juan
I have been reading your intro thread, and I must say you got me to thinking. Just out of curiosity, how tall are you? The reason I ask is that one of the best ways to improve your run time is to drop your weight. There are other things one can do, of course. But by far the quickest is to loose weig...

Re: C/E Platoon
One of the positives about being in the Commo section is you get to play with all the latest & greatest toys that come down the line, shit that civilians don't have yet. 5 years before I saw one on the civilian market, our boys were fucking around with what was essentially a blackberry with a sl...

Re: Digging Deep - Need Advice On Motivation
From my experience/view point, motivation is just a temporary thing- she needs more discipline. I think motivation is kind of like a fire, it's there and it's good but it'll eventually go away. Some days will absolutely suck and training will be the last thing you'd ever want to do- do it anyways. ...

Re: Thank you for your prayers and compassion
Sir, it was an absolute pleasure to have met your wife this summer, and to have been treated as one of the family. You and your lovely wife were such gracious hosts that we could not have wanted for anything. I have seen first hand the ravages of her condition, and do not blame you one bit for not w...

Re: A Ranger Icon Is Closing Its Doors
I'm actually surprised they lasted this long. It is a shit location, and the rest of their chow is just so-so at best. Back when they opened in '79 Benning was a very different place, and Harmony Church was a bee-hive of activity. I didn't realize how isolated 4th RTB was till I worked there, so it ...

You should a said "fuck it" and just finished the sit-ups. The Female in question would have been hard pressed to get a harassment charge to stick, if it came to that.
That being said, good luck with it.

Re: Frostbite
I myself got mild frostbite while going through Ft. Bliss for basic. Partly because they had us scared shitless to go on sick call, partly because I didn't realize how bad it was at the time, I didn't seek treatment. Unfortunately for me, now just fucking around in the freezer, digging between he ba...

Probably one of the wisest posts directly above mine from someone who knows first hand, has something in common with you and is current. I would suggest you read it again several times and make sure what Ranger Grim is saying, sinks in completely. Then, take a step back and give it some thought. If...

Re: Long overdue SITREP
Do not for one second discount what you have accomplished thus far. You, brother, have done more in your short time there than most do 20!.. Especially now that you have your Tab. I, for one, didn't really mind not getting the Tab. As a medic, I could take it, or leave it. It was more so that we cou...
