Re: Intro

Eric, if you're unable to secure an Opt. 40 you should be able to sign up for RIP during Airborne. Lately, they've been pulling all the Opt. 40 guys to a meeting with the Ranger Liasons during ground week and have invited anyone who is interested in volunteering for RIP as well. I dragged a couple o...

Re: Introduction

Just like Ranger Ron said; if you want Ranger, then hold out for it.

Congratulations on your decision to enlist. Drive on.

Re: Introduction

Congratulations on getting your contract, Andrew. That being said, Ranger medics are shit hot. Make sure you are too. Drown yourself in the information provided on these boards and grab on to every bit of medical knowledge you pick up from here on out.

Don't apologize. I will be the first to admit that college is NOT for everyone. I just can't see why someone would go through three majors and advanced coursework in 5 fields and at least not just walk away with something to show for it. That's exactly what I did, T Man. And although I love this jo...

A basic camelbak will do. No pockets or any of that stuff. He probably won't use it after RIP anyway. In fact, when carried on the ruck marches, we just took out the bladder itself and tossed that in the ruck without the "backpack" part to allow more room for the rest of the packing list.

It still works pretty much as Ranger JohnDowland said. In our class, they asked for all the 13F's to stand up. Both of them did. They said 3/75 and 2/75 each needed a 13F and let them decided between themselves who would go where. There won't be many other 13F's in RIP with you, if any. Where you go...

Graduated Class 12-06

Just wanted to update the Rangers here. I graduated from RIP Class 12-06 yesterday and have been assigned (as I hoped) to 3rd Battalion. I would write more, but I think I'm still working my way out of that surreal moment that followed the command of, "Rangers, don berets." All I can say is...

Passed the RIP PT yesterday and will be starting with the next class a week from this Monday. I'll be glad to get out of hold and away from all the shitbags who either failed or quit. Damn PV2ICs. The road march is the only thing that has me overly concerned. My short little legs make it the most di...

OSUT Complete

Rangers, I graduated from OSUT A Co 2/54 INF yesterday, checked into Airborne hold, and am now enjoying a few days with my family before heading back onto Sand Hill. I'm looking forward to BAT and the challenge that awaits on the other side. OSUT was WAY too easy, but I think that is in part due to ...

Shipping Out

I'll be leaving for the hotel tomorrow afternoon and heading down to Georgia Tuesday morning. Its been said many a time by many a DEP, but it bears repeating. Thank you to the Rangers who have allowed us wannabes the chance to learn as guests within your community. The insight, knowledge, and advice...
