Re: Push-up workout plan

I ended up doing a workout consisting of diamond and elevated pushups, doing about 4-5 sets every other day, and I maxed out once a week. I'm at about 80 pushups or so in two minutes, and I can now do about 26 pullups. My situps are about the same.

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Rabbit, Thanks for the advice. I had already registered for MILsci_101, and I will definitely check to make sure my class and lab times don't conflict. I've been doing some more research about ROTC...Is it possible to do Ranger Challenge as a MSI cadet? What about schools? (Airborne, Air Assault, et...

Re: Push-up workout plan

Ranger Bill, So you're suggesting that I only do one set a day, maximum number until failure of regular and girl push-ups? That sounds like a pretty quick and simple workout. Could this also apply to sit-ups and pull-ups? I like the idea of completing my workout in 20 minutes. Ranger Silverback, I s...

Push-up workout plan

Hello Rangers, For the past two years or so I have been lifting weights pretty regularly, and my program worked quite well for me. Unfortunately, lifting weights doesn't mean a good PT score, so around February I switched my workouts over to working on push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups. I would work-o...

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Rangers, thank-you for your time and help. I have been conducting more research on ROTC and being an officer, and I am going to stick with ROTC and work as hard as I possibly can. It may take a bit longer, but good things come to those who wait...I honestly think this is the best path for me.

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Ranger JLTW, When I said I looked him up, I meant that I read a number of articles, around 7 actually, that discussed his life and death. I didn't merely dismiss Ranger PocketKings' advice. As far as what I've learned... I have obviously learned about the life and death of 1Lt. Bostrom; about how he...

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Ranger Pocketkings, I researched information regarding Platoon leaders and I also looked up 1Lt Brostrom. Being an infantry officer sounds like a great career, however, during some of my research I found that cadets don't always get their branch choice, even if they are towards the top of their clas...

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Thanks for the information Ranger Zonk and Ranger Pocketkings. Ranger PocketKings, you said as an officer you are able to be right in the mix with them. Does that mean you're able to be up front kicking in doors with them, or merely out in the field watching your men and giving them orders? I apprec...

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Sorry Ranger Zonk 1/75. It won't happen again. The thing is, I really don't want to be stuck behind a desk. I realize most jobs have unpleasant duties that go along with them, and that sometimes you just have to grin and bear it. However, the reason I wish to join the army is to be out in the field ...

Re: I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Yes, I realize that the decision is up to me, and that it is me, not my parents, who will have to live with it. That being said, my main question is whether as an officer you can serve in the Rangers for more than a few years, and if you can't, if they would let you transfer to SF afterward. Also, i...

I need some advice...enlisting, ROTC...

Hello, I am 18 years old and fresh out of high school. This year I accepted a 4-year ROTC scholarship, but I am still uncertain about where exactly this will take me. I have a strong desire to serve in the armed forces, specifically in an elite unit in the army. I want to serve with the best, and be...

Introduction

Hello,

My name is Dave and I am 18 years old. I just graduated from High School this year, and have received a 4-year scholarship through Army ROTC.

I came to this site to see what the best have to say about things, and hopefully to have a few of my questions answered.
