Re: Introduction
Graduating Airborne School tomorrow morning, just did my night jump at about 0200 this morning and I think it was the funnest thing I've ever done! Well, apart from the emergency exit somehow popping off of the plane right before we jumped. I had a great time here but I'm ready to put my game-face o...

Re: Introduction
Well it's been a 20 week long trip but I'm finally a certified combat medic and I just got confirmation that my packet was approved and my orders have me going to Airborne School followed by RIP. Before they changed I had orders to go to Smith Barracks, Germany and that was the #1 spot on my dream s...

Re: Introduction
Getting my airborne physical this week then submitting my packet! My sergeant is optimistic that I'll be accepted once it's in, I have good PT scores, passed the NREMT and have a very high GPA so I'm hoping for the best! Got pretty lucky too because my first sergeant and commander don't allow soldie...

Re: possible recruitment process
I'm just a stupid private, but I think the medical (eyesight) reqs. for enlisted personnel is the same for commissioned. So joining the guard w/ opt. 40 would make you a Ranger without having to go infantry and request spec. ops., you'd just have to re-enlist and go to OCS. If you couldn't get opt. ...

Re: "Perfect Pushup"
I've had a set of these for about a year and I just had them shipped to me at AIT. The guys in the bay like them a lot. If you're new to them you'll feel the burn all over your upper body. The rotation allows you to use your deltoids and triceps a lot more, you even notice it in your lats. The fact ...

Re: A complicated query (vision req.)
Really? That's comforting. I'm meeting with a Sergeant today to do the paperwork.

A complicated query (vision req.)
At the moment I'm applying for recruitment into the Rangers while in AIT because I was disqualified from going Airborne at MEPS. I have 20/20 vision in my right eye but a near visual acuity of 20/200 and a distant visual acuity of 20/80 in my left. This is a birth defect in my optic nerve and no sur...

Introduction
Good evening Rangers, I'm a 68W in training here at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. I enlisted without the Option 40 contract or even Airborne because of a birth defect in my left eye. Fortunately I've done some research and found out that I do in fact meet the AR 40-501 medical standards for Airborne and ...
