Rangers, I am pleased to report The 75th Ranger Regiment now has one new Red Hat. Graduate - RIP class 07-08 Thanks again to all the Rangers on this board who have given me advice and encouragement. Your words were not wasted. One memorable highlight from the class: Day 0 - After the previous class'...

Rangers, Thanks for the replies. It was a very embarrassing number of pushups for a PT test and by far the lowest I have ever done on any Army APFT. That near miss was a real wakeup call that what I had been doing was not enough or simply on the wrong track, and I immediately began a crash pushup im...

Rangers, I took and passed the entrance PT test last Friday, and am now scheduled to attend the next RIP class. I just barely made the pushups with 43. I went down and my shoulders locked with almost a minute left. I spent the whole minute trying everything I could think of to get back up but ended ...

Rangers, I arrived at RIP today, and will most likely be in hold for at least one month as there is a class just starting. Of all the Riggers who have recently come down to RIP, only one has actually made it long enough to even start a class. They have all dropped for various reasons ranging from le...

Rangers, A lot has happened since my last post. I graduated class 03-08 from Airborne School and they gave me a coin for being the Guidon. My chalk ended up getting the C-17 for the first four of our five jumps, so I got a little spoiled by that nice ride. All the jumps went off without a hitch, tho...

Rigger MFF

Rangers,

How difficult is it to get MFF school as a parachute rigger in the 75th?

Also, is there a school seperate from the normal MFF for actually rigging MFF?

Rangers, Thanks for all the comments. D Co did the 250 tower today, but there wasn't time for everyone to go (It was scrubbed yesterday due to weather). Someone managed to get their chute hung up on the tower and dangled there until Sgt Airborne climbed up to save the day. Tomorrow is our final run ...

Rangers, I am currently in Tower week at 507th D Co. So far all is well, though I am a bit envious of all the guys going straight to RIP from here, of which there are quite a few. I still have 11 weeks of AIT before returning for it. We have already lost 5 of the other rigger hopefuls I shipped with...

Is it possible that the rigger pre-req at Benning is actually BAT, and the second trip to Benning is instead, RIP? That makes more logical sense. Ranger 42L5V, That may be it. If so, then the length seems to be wrong, because it shows BAT - BENN - 2 WKS 4 DAYS and I have read that RIP is 4 weeks an...

Something is fucked up about that schedule. Ranger AbnRgr289, That is what I thought too. It seems strange based on what I have read about the training: From Wiki: Army Parachute Rigger recruits start their traing at Airborne Orientation Course (AOC), a course designed to prepare 92R0 recruits for ...

Read that sentence again, emphasis on Ranger.

Ranger IntelToad,

Hopefully some of the best chutes you've ever jumped with were packed by Ranger Riggers. 8)

Situation Update

Thank you again, Rangers.

Rangers, I have just returned from MEPS, and I am now officially DEP'd. My contract is for 92R - OPT 40, Parachute Rigger Airborne Ranger 8) My ship date is 20070725 and I am currently scheduled for Basic at Jackson followed by Rigger Prereq at Jackson and Benning. After that AIT is at Jackson then ...
