Yes.
You have asked question a with so many variables and "depends" that it can't be answered.

Think about it, you were a SSG. They dont have a Ranger Retirement home. Rnagers go into many things.

Last but not least, Citizen....did you post an introduction.

When I was in, if you had an injury which lasted more than 30 days, you were booted from Battalion (regardless of rank). Where you went from there depended upon the extent of your injury.

We have Rangers who went into straight leg Infantry, Mech, Other Airborne, LRS, Medical, even Clerical. Just depends on their ability to accomplish the job. We have one who was put out of the service for severe injuries but was offred an Mechanic slot. The man had SOME pride and got out.
Such a general question, you have something or someone in mind when you ask?

When Rangers step on their dick they don't go LRS...they go to RTB!
LRS is full of ex-Rangers because who the fuck else is going to operate indepedently behind enemy lines in six man teams?
The RSLC is open to "V" qualified NCOs not disciplinary problems.
ILRRP is one the best and most sought after courses in the world.
If you're broke dick LRS is not the place to be...if you can hump a ruck in LRS unit you can fuckin' hump anywhere.
Rangers who find themselves reassigned to legland will usually gravitate to the LRS or be assigned there as a matter of form. And after all ..it is jump status.

What happens when a Ranger is injured, either in the field or during training, to the point where they can't jump or perform their duties any more? Do they remain in Regiment? Is the old myth that they get assigned to a LRS unit true? Or do they simply go needs of the Army?

WTF....I fail to see the 'medical' aspect of this question. Seems more like some kind of half-ass attempt to take 6-7 poorly formed thoughts and turn them into something utterly annoying. :?

Next time you feel like wasting someone's time, go take a bath with a small electrical appliance.

When I was there, we sent alot of guys to 1st of 11th (IOBC) and to RTB. I didn't see any of the medical guys get screwed.
