Hey, my name is Russell, and I'm 18 years old. I am in the Army ROTC program at BYU. I'm on the 'Ranger Challenge' team (which is just a program where you compete against other schools in things like BRM, PT, ruck runs, rope bridge, etc.) It is also supposed to prepare you for Ranger School with its focus on PT. We've won the competition the last two years consecutively (6 of the last 8 total) and if we do it again this year we will go to the 'Sandhurst' competition at West Point, NY to compete against Canada, Great Britain, West Point, Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, and other ROTC programs that won their region Ranger Challenge competition. I eat and sleep PT, these competitions, and all the events that are associated with them.
I know I can learn a ton from you. I am nothing compared to you Rangers and the things you have done. Hopefully I'll be able to accomplish the things that you have accomplished.
I have a question (hopefully you won't bash me for asking a question in my intro): Right now im doing 90 PU, 88 SU, and 12:55 on my PT test, what would be good reps/times to get that would be ideal upon entering Ranger School? I've searched and could only find that 11+ is good for the run. The reason i'm asking is that I kind of want a goal to shoot for rather than just "get better" as my goal. Thanks Rangers.
