Hello all. Name is Dale Swart and I was an 11h. I joined in 1992 and was stationed at the 82nd , Dco 1/505 PIR. I reclassified to 19d and then went to Germany and finished at ft Riley KS. This was 1999. I then joined the National Guard and went back infantry. I was in the guard for another 5 years.
My kid just enlisted and ships out for basic July 20th. He is 11x with option 40. The question I have is if he makes it through RASP is there a “graduation” parents can attend or does he just go straight to his ranger batt?

Welcome here Dale. They do have graduation ceremonies for RASP but unfortunately they may be cancelled because of covid 19 (same for OSUT, airborne etc.)

Hello all. Name is Dale
Hey Dale,

As was stated, most of us here won't be too sure on how future graduations will go but they definitely had them before all this stuff started to happen. The RASP graduations were being done at Building 4 on Fort Benning. Your son should be able to keep in touch with you as the time comes to let you all know when/where those things are taking place.

He's a week out from shipping. How are you all feeling?
