Introduction- Danny

Post by drm117 »

Hello all, my name is Danny. I am 20 years old and am currently an ROTC cadet. I don't feel fulfilled and want something more from life. I have been in contact with my recruiter for going on 9 months, during which my medical documentation has passed. Looking at the list of MOSs on the ranger website, I think I would be well suited for something 25 or 35 series. I want to be on site during operations, but I don't know whether picking a non-11-series MOS would impede that. For the sake of brevity I'll end the intro here. All your thoughts are appreciated.
Respectfully,
Danny

Hey Danny,

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com. This site has many years of history for folks who want to join and I encourage you to leverage it as a resource to get your oriented in your journey.

Make sure you read the forum rules. Double check your post and let me know what your error is. Attention to detail is a big part of being successful in the Ranger Regiment as well as the military in general.

I would continue to research those jobs to include reviewing any descriptions on them that the 75th Ranger Regiment puts out officially. It is definitely possible to support ground missions as some of the 25 series jobs. I am not as sure about the 35 series.

You are in ROTC but it sounds like you are going to enlist instead, is that correct? Do you plan to finish school and turn down a commission or leave early?

Rangers, I have secured an 11x opt 40 contract with an August 17 ship date. APFT scores are as follows:

2 min PU: 75 / 100
2 min SU: 73 / 92
2 mile run: 12:10 / 100

292 cumulative score.

My goal is to make failing a pt test at rasp as close to an impossibility as possible. Improving my PU form is also going to be my main area of focus in the coming weeks. That's all for now, scores from the 12 mile ruck march and 5 mile run to come.

Respectfully,
Danny
