Re-Intro - Joe

Post by Industrial Athlete » July 1st, 2019, 10:36 am

Hey Gents,

I wanted to reach back out and re-introduce myself due to the fact that my old intro is archived (i'm getting old). I came to this forum back in 2012 in the hopes of joining at some capacity. I didn't know to what extent, but I knew I wanted to serve. I was at that time 28 years old at that point (which I thought was old at that time).

Fast forward a few years, after reading through this forum multiple times, I said fuck it , and I enlisted in the National Guard in 15' in hopes of keeping my current civilian job, home, wife's current job intact, while I served.

I was successful to keep everything somewhat stable as I am currently still in the Dirty Nasty Girls. I was able to be at the right place , at the right time, in the right uniform, and it has helped me be successful thus far. I was able to attend and pass SNIPER school, RANGER School, and RSLC among a few others.

Although, my ultimate goal to join the regiment didn't come to fruition, I was able to set some goals, and achieve them with the help of this motivated forum. If I can motivate or inspire the next guy looking to take the leap, and pay it forward, that's the least I can do.

Joe, thanks for coming back and checking in. Doing those things for NG land is as far as I know quite impressive. I'll shoot you a PM and we'll chat.

The military life is hard no matter which side of it you work on. You're on the hook, always, and sometimes even after you leave they can still grab you. You are doing what you set out to and that is something to be very proud of.
