Introduction-Tyler

Post by Akidfromcincy » February 21st, 2019, 8:49 pm

Hello Rangers,
My name is Tyler I am 17 and i am on track to graduate this May. I officially enlisted yesterday (20190220) with an 11x option 40 contract. My ship date is 20190716. I just recently found this sight after hearing about it on the Instagram account "aspiring_rangers_greenberet" while the account owner was on an Instagram live with a Ranger who has recently graduated RASP. I am extremely excited for the opportunity to go to RASP and will not waste it. I know RASP will be the most difficult experience I have ever had so I am extremely excited to learn as much as possible from the Rangers on this sight.

Thank You Rangers for this opportunity.

I will be posting my PT score on here by the end of next week.

Hello Rangers
Tyler, glad you found ArmyRanger.com.

I am promoting you and giving you access to some new forums. The Mentoring Zone is the key one you need to review. Message me when you are ready or if you have questions.

Are you involved in any sports? Which ones and what do you think of them? Have you executed a self APFT? What are you doing with your recruiting station since you are a DEP before you ship? Why did you decide to join the military instead of working or going to college?

Ranger Disinfertention thank you for the welcome.
I have been playing sports since i could stand I've played football, baseball, basketball, wrestled, and have ran track. My two favorites are football and wrestling because I have always been a fan of being a part of a close team and those were the two that gave me that satisfaction the most. I have not completed the full APFT, but i hope to do the running portion after my turf toe settles down. My push-up number was 56 in two minutes and 113 situps. I have been keeping my cardio up by rowing and riding the bike at the gym. I have not started work outs at my recruiting station yet so I do not have a clear idea, but what i was told is that every Wednesday we will be doing some type of PT whether that be running or calisthenics. I decided to join the military because it's something I have always wanted to do like sports from what i can see is that its a team and like i said before i love being part of a team. Another thing that pushed me is that i really do not enjoy school I've always got go grades and have been in the high classes but right now i just do not want to sit in anymore classes with a whole bunch of clueless millennials who know nothing about the real world.

School sucks, I'll be the first tell you. It's ok if you do not like school but education is a part of who we are. Don't dismiss it for 10 years like I did. Once you join the military and get to your unit there is no excuse not to take online classes. It's free and only takes some of your time.

Watch a video on proper form for situps on the Army APFT. 113 is a lot. Not impossible just ensure you are doing them correctly. The Marines do them very different so I want to be sure you aren't doing those.
