Ranger disinfertention, I have not yet completed the ASVAB my school doesn’t offer it, so I have to take the online one. And my recruiter said I can’t go to MEPs until I’m 14 months from my ship date, I have to confirm my test score. I am set to take it in March.

Continue to improve yourself while you wait. Execute another APFT with chin-ups in the next week or so and let's see how you progressed.

Remember that once you are signing a contract or talking to someone at MEPs is not the time to decide what you want. Determine now, while you are not under any pressure, that you want an MOS with an OPT 40 (Airbrone, Ranger) and stick to that. Settle for nothing less.

Ranger Disinfertention, I apologize for the wait. I had the flu this past week and wasn’t able to complete an APFT however this evening I completed one. My pushups have improved slightly 66 in 2 minutes, 74 sit-ups in 2 minutes. 15:13 on my 2 mile. Where I run is rolling hills. On a track or relatively flat surface, that’ll increase. 13 chin-ups. In a week or two when I’m feeling 100% better I’ll complete another one with a 5 mile run substitute.

Hey Nathan! Thanks for checking in. Don't worry about those rolling hills... they can be standard so it's good to train on them. Try doing only a hill repeat day. Lots of fun...

Good scores, keep on it. Sucks you got the Flu but it's definitely getting around again right now. Waiting for my turn because I think I skipped my flu shot.

How did the chin-ups feel? Was that your first time doing them? Did you do them after the run or separately?

Ranger disinfertention, chin ups are something I incorporate into my workouts in the gym. I don’t mind them, personally they’re easier to me than pushups. Not sure why... I did them after my run, with little to no rest. I’ve been asked to join the track team at my school, so I may join. Which will improve my running and overall shape.

Welcome here Nathan, there's a lot to learn here and being a junior in high school you have the time to prepare.

Hey Nathan, it's been a few weeks. Did you get on the track team? What's new? Have a chance to do any more APFT work?

Ranger disinfertention, I have some good news. Sorry for the long response time as well. I made the track team, and have been balancing track practice and work. More good news... my recruiter sent me a text saying it’s almost time for me to start the process and that he’s requesting to sign me up for the online ASVAB on Monday. I’ll post an update on when I’m taking it, and how I perform.
