Rangers,
I have been directing my focus on being overall more durable, stronger, faster and smarter. My training is catering to a few goals I have at the moment which I feel will help my path to become a Ranger. Targeting my focus to things I feel will expand my potential to perform Ranger tasks.
These goals I feel will keep my fitness extremely well rounded without dipping too far to one extreme. With an improvement in my APFT from the training.
APFT goal:
PU: 80
SU: 90
2 Mile: 10:30
Chin Ups: 30
Endurance goals:
5 Mile: 29:58
Marathon: 02:59:58
12 Mile Ruck: 01:59:58
600 4-count flutter kicks without resting
Strength goals:
Paused squat: 455 lb
Deadlift: 535 lb
Strict Standing Overhead press: 205lbs
10x 25 foot rope climbs without rest (No legs)
When I think of things a “PT Stud” would do this is my mental image.
Would this be a well rounded goal or should I rethink them.
Should I focus on specificity or overall

Re: Should I focus on specificity or overall
Lifting is good, but my leadership wants us privates to mainly focus on absolutely crushing a pt test to go to Ranger school. Hit me up Ill send you a workout plan my team leader has me on and it has greatly improved my pt. I also lift on top of it but mainly focus on the program. Plus as sad as it is all gains will be lost in school lol.
On a side note don't ask if your brain waves are the same as Rangers that shits weird
