1960's? Didn't see the dates on that film, but judging by the old patrol caps, brass buckles, bright patches, etc. that had to be early 60s (pre-Johnson admin) at the latest, maybe the Kennedy era. That stuff was long gone by my time, the late 60s. And the judo/karate stuff? Never saw it, but maybe I wasn't "secret squirrel" enough.

I went back and watched it again. I think they may have spliced a couple of episodes together. For example, the section on Jump school seems to feature troops from the 82d, rather than SF. When I initially enlisted, we got the black/gold US Army, and white with black letters name strips. We went to subdued in early 1967 in Viet-Nam. When I initially went to Viet-Nam we were issued the M-14. A couple months later, we got issued the M-16.
