106 degrees in GA

Post by blueskiesalways »

Got a kid in Ranger School. It's 106 degrees in GA right now. I bet life is sucking pretty bad for him. His brother went through in the winter. I bet there will be some interesting arguments as to who had it worse!

Shot a 3-Gun match yesterday. Hydration is key, and minimizing activity when possible.

Blueskiesalways, I was thinking the same thing, then got to checking something on weather.com
The current temperature in Qandahar, Afghanistan is 106, with the next 10 days ranging from that up to 111. At least the son's don't have to worry about IED's over here!

Was outside of Khandahar last year at this time. We maxed out at 135 degrees. Dismounted IED patrols are awesome when you have to worry more about the heat than the bad guys.

I thought we were going to explode.

I saw that on a ball game yesterday. The temperature inside the Braves dugout was 111 dgrees. Field temp was 106. Knuckleball pitchers love this kind of weather.

A lot in my area are out of electricity and will be for maybe a week or so. Not too bad once you acclimate, but sucks until then!

At temps like that even the bad guys are too lazy to do much.

That may have been why the locals were looking at us like we were nuts.

I never consider it warm til temp reaches 105.

Makes me think to cool off one needs to do a HALO with only a chute as Bubba did.
