07-11 - Finally

Post by WhiskeyRiver »

Rangers,

I took a few weeks off to drink some beers during BRC and block leave, but I finally scraped through and managed to graduate Ranger School this past Friday. All I can say is that if you only take away one piece of advice from this forum, it's don't quit. It sounds trite, but if you follow it, you can't go wrong. Thanks again for the words of wisdom.

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.

1) Don't quit. Seriously. And I don't mean merely LOMing, I mean don't just say 'fuck it' and starting doing the easy wrong over the hard right.
2) In the immortal words of SFC Martel - Beach Body - thighs and calves. Write that down. You will be rucking like crazy, with more weight than you're used to at IBOLC.
3) Suck it up, get a copy of some of the lane strips for the LN course, and go do them.
4) Ranger Buddy. Ranger Buddy. Ranger Buddy. If he quits on you, it's your fault. If you're giving up, he needs to give you a gut check.
5) No matter what, make it through RAP week. Once you make it through RAP week, your foot is in the door. Even if you have to get recycled because you messed yourself up somehow, it's better than starting over.
6) Did I mention don't quit?

Now the easy part is done. By earning the Ranger Tab you just raised what everyone will expect you to be able to accomplish. Never, never quit!
