Shin Splints?

Post by Black2594 »

Hello Rangers, yesterday I went for a run and noticed my shins and the area around my ankle started to hurt. I determined that I had shin splints. I stretched before I ran, so I'm not really sure what could be causing the pain. Maybe I didn't stretch long enough, or maybe I'm hitting the ground too hard with my feet while I'm running, I'm not sure which one. Any insight would be helpful.

Rangers & Black2594,

I too have pain like this in my shins a good deal while I am running and afterwards. Is this something where we should just tough it out and push through the pain? Or, is there something different we should be doing? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Try running on the balls of your feet rather than your heel. It's takes a little while to get used to but it should go a long way in eliminating the shin splints.

I had shin spints for a bit and I changed my shoes and did the Standing Toe-up Achilles Stretch a lot even when I wasn't running. And they went away. And because I a so goddamn nice I even added a picture to help you

When did this happen?

Seriously, shoes have a lot to do with it. You need correct arch support in order to avoid a lot of jarring going up your ankle, shin and knee.

Do some research and figure our what type of arch you have and then what type of shoe correctly supports it.
