Ranger P. Piazza

Post by IEDmagnet »

Rangers and Brothers,

I'm not sure if anyone had let you all know, but Ranger Philip Piazza passed away May 29th, 2011 in his home in Six Mile at 94 years young. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him once in the city of Clemson, and had posted that account. Mr. Piazza is survived by his wife and three daughters. His funeral is set for June 2d at 1400 in Clemson, with burial at MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetary in Anderson. The family is requesting that any memorials be made to the Army Ranger Memorial Foundation scholarship fund, and condolences can be expressed online at http://www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I'm sorry to be the one to pass this sad news on, but thought you would all want to know.

If anyone needs any more information, I'll do my best to get it since I'm local to it.

B/2/121 Inf, 48th BCT Iraq 05-06
B/1/118 Inf, 218th BCT Afghan 07

I'm not stupid, I'm crazy...there is a difference.

Rest in Peace, Ranger. . .
I had the honor of meeting Ranger Piazza at a reunion 10 or 15 years ago. Hell of a Ranger! He was a one of Merrill's Marauders. I still carry his card in my wallet to this day.

Blue Skies, Ranger . . .
