Introduction

Post by Sabre42 »

Hello Rangers:

My name is Dave, I am 22 and recently received my commission through ROTC. I am branched Field Artillery and my first duty assignment will be with the 25th ID in Hawaii. I will be cadre at LDAC this summer at Ft.Lewis and will then PCS to Ft.Sill for three months of snowbirding to be followed by BOLC II and BOLC III. It is my intent to participate in the Pre-Ranger PT program during BOLC III in order to earn a Ranger School slot. While snowbirding at Sill I will focus on improving my fitness level and studying my FMs in addition to seeking out any additional training opportunities I can get prior to BOLC II starting. I have been reading this site for the past three years and I am infinitely grateful to the Rangers, Veterans, and current Soldiers who contribute to this site for the knowledge they have shared and the professionalism they have demonstrated.

Eyes open, mouth shut.

Welcome here. As a former Redleg LT who suffered all that was Pre-Ranger and Lawton, Oklahoma I may have a few answers to some of your questions. It's been 8 years since I was there, so my info is most likely dated.

Never quit is my best advice.

Thank you for the welcome, Rangers.

Ranger Catfish Driver, I have heard mixed reviews on the Pre-Ranger at Sill in its current form. The consensus seems to be that the PT is excellent but the technical skill training is pretty skimpy. Does this fit with your experience at FAOBC?
