My guess is that if you are qualified, an Option 40 contract will be offered to you in the near future. Did your recruiter explain the Delayed Entry Program to you?

Yes, my recruiter explained the DEP to me. He said that I would be doing that until I graduated High school.

He also had me take a mini-ASVAB. I scored a 73 AFQT, but I don't think I should base my score on the actual ASVAB on this mini-test. Or should I?

One question. What is the difference between the Future Soldier Program and the Delayed Entry Program? My recruiter implied that they were basically interchangeable.

Thanks,

I'll venture a guess! DEP is for contracted individuals and FSP is for noncontracted individuals.

Go on-line and find study materials for the ASVAB test.

Actuall a Future Soldier is a DEP as the Army made the term defunct in 2005. We still call them DEPs, but it is not the correct term.

The FSP is for all people contracted, processing, and interested. The Station Commander wants him there to continue to sell him.

The young stud should realize the recruiter are trying to "flip" him to get a reserve contract now and an active duty one next year after he's trained. Under NO FUCKING CIRCUMSTANCE should he fall for this.

If he wants and option 40, then he should wait until it's available and get it if he's qualified.(I know you were'nt implying the above, but I see through the recruiters bullshit already.)
