I think the coolest scout rifle would be a M1 Garand tanker in 308. I was pondering somthing to carry on horseback other than a lever gun :twisted:

Although my Marlin 336 in .35 Remington doesn't meet Col. Cooper's scout rifle criteria, I am studying how it might be scouterized. The Hornady LEVERevolution® ammunition is claimed to increase the effective range of rounds like the .35 Remington.
