I understand what you're saying as far as current injured servicement and compensation. However, for every wounded warrior, there are 5 people with thick health records for no injuries but illnesses.

One guy I work with is a 50% for Irritable bowel syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder, tinnitus, and the like.

I'm 30% - what i thought was a fair compensation. I didn't appeal, nor do I plan to.

I know a DA civilian (female) who was an office clerk for 3 years, and she draws 80%. How I don't know. Air Force doctors typically rate higher.

I know a guy who claimed occasional impotence as a result of stress. His benefit? Free viagra from the VA for the rest of his life.

I could go on and on.

In my opinion, get what you think is due you and what you deserve. Don't cheat the system, but take what is yours, and look yourself in the mirror every morning.

Look brother I tell this to my wife (a veteran) and my father in law (retiree) all the time: Fill out the papers, submit and let the VA figure it out. You can do it online through the VA website. Don't second guess it, just submit everything you got (medical records) from Day one in Service until today. Make copies send it in. They will sort through whats what and let you know. If you get something you get it, if you dont you dont and you can feel like you at least gave it a shot. Oh and don't scrimp on those anger issue things. Believe me I am willing to bet a bunch of that is service related.

I turned all my shit over to the DAV, signed a limited power of attorney and walked away. They dealt with the VA from there on out. That's why I became a DAV life member.

Maybe Im fucking weird but life has its bumps and bruises....23 years produced a plethora of them. Knee's, ankles, arms, back....you fucking name it. And Ill be damned if Ill ask for money for having done what I wanted to do. IF the Govt was negligent and I was injured...sure. But in the normal course of soldiering one can expect some ramifications. I just cant make myself go get money that I dont feel entitled to. But thats me. Im probably too fucking proud or whatever. Ill make my own money for work I do or did.

Why not be like everyone else? That seems to be in direct contrast with everything that title under your name stands for...but that's just me.

Unless your moral compass needs to be dx'd, you know if an injury is legitimate or not. If it is, then so be it. If not, then not. '

I have a hard time imagining WWII and Korean era vets doing some of the things suggested here. Maybe it's a generational thing.

Why not get the disability? It's like getting per diem. Can you survive in Manilla on $10 a day? You bet. So are you going to say "No thank you, I don't want or need $85, I only need $10. Here's $75 back". No. I don't think anyone here would. And if you did, let me know. You earned the disability, so you should get it. If nothing more, it's a nice bottle of scotch once a month. You're not some shitbag, who never worked a day in his life who feels entitled to something for nothing. No one likes a hand out, but everyone likes getting a hand every now and then. And just for the record, not everyone who served in Korea and WWII was a hero. There were plenty of jerk offs and pogues and shitbags in both wars. The current one is no different. Everyone thinks that if you go to Iraq or Afghanistan, that you (regardless of MOS) are out there doing hand to hand with die hard terrorists everyday. Bullshit! Most people in either theater don't even leave the FOB. They couldn't even tell you were the front gate is. All service is honorable, just not equal.

Unless your moral compass needs to be dx'd,

Moral compass? Are you fucking queer?

I got close to 200 static lines and many more free falls (fuck you Tenn Rgr)

Everything I got hurts at one time or another. I broke my hip, destroyed my shoulder, knees and back r killing me. My left left thumb has no game keeper ligaments (google it) and can't hear for shit. As I referred to others getting it and why not us..................WE FUCKING EARNED IT.

Not queer, but I can read. Maybe the VA can hook you up with some fucking contacts.

I'm pretty sure this piece you chose to overlook covered your rant.
