Here's another freebie for the DEPs or anyone heading to RIP.
I received a bunch of PMs regarding the packing list for RIP and also had sent a few to Rangers before I shipped out regarding the issue.
So, here it is:
Medical records with current Army physical (DD Form 2808)
4 sets of ACU's (Top's and Bottom's)
5 Tan T-shirts
1 set of cold weather underwear (top and bottom) polypro
2 ACU caps
2 brown towels
2 pairs of boots, tan
5 pairs of wool socks (black or green)
Flashlight with red lens
Field jacket
Watch cap
Black glove shells with wool liners
Shaving kit (razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, shave cream, soap w/ dish)
Wrist watch
Full Army PFU
Running shoes
5 pairs of white cotton crew socks
Notebook w/ pen and pencil
Alcohol pens w/ eraser
Weapons cleaning kit (5.56mm)
Protractor
The following are recommended items:
Additional socks
Additional t-shirts
Spare batteries for flashlight
Lighter
Insect repellant (NOT aerosol)
Pocketknife
Headlamp
When you show up, you're going to get shookdown. Pack a light bag...you're gonna run with it. Be prepared to get time hacked and smoked. It's the name of the game. Just love it.
