INTRODUCTION

Post by mortarattack »

Hello, my name is Adam and I'm a SGT in the Army. I'm a 11C and am currently in 4/2 ID located in Fort Lewis, WA. All I've worked on since I joined the Army are stryker variant 120mm's. I'm tired of that crap and am currently learning all ground mounted information for all mortars. I want to join the Bat because I don't want to be around unmotivated soldiers for my whole army career and I want to be pushed to the limits with everything I do. Not saying that the Army is full with shit-sticks, but there is a majority. I've wanted to be in the Bat ever since I went to our Pre Ranger back when I was a PV2 in '05. It's now '08, I did my tour, and now after I graduate WLC, I'm going to put my paperwork in and go to 2/75. Now my only question right now is if there are any topics already posted that have information about what is expected of a 11C NCO in the Rangers. Thanks and just wanted to say that this is a real good forum

I was an 11C NCO in 2/75

My advice is, get your tab and then 4187 to 11B, then get to BN

While I lead a charmed life at 2/75 (Ranger school after only 7 months and promoted to section leader, an E-6 position as an E-4P) this is not typical.

There are 90-95% more 11B's in BN than 11C's and the promotion path is more broad. My info is a little dated since I got out in '95 so someone may have more up to date advice.

Most 11C's that made E-5 that I know switched to 11B and became AT or Snipers.

Good Luck!

No, the bastards never sent me after I graduated pre ranger no matter how much I persisted. I recieved four seperate dates and each time I was bumped by another soldier in one of the Infantry Bat's (I'm in the scout squadron, 2-1cav). So now that I'm done with my units lifecycle and my tour, I'm going to finally do what I want to do and get to the Bat and do what I have to from there.

I was thinking about that at one time. I just need to brush up on my 11b skills and I'd be good to go

QRT was here.
