What I don't get is from what i remember from that article, they fielded the ACU with soldiers in a stryker brigade, and people training somewhere room clearing. Would it not have made sense to put it on someones back who isn't stateside, and who walks everywhere / jumps out of planes etc..?

Cadpat, Marpat, Armpat?
Look closely at the soldiers right leg (left of picture). You can see the electroshock device used to punish him for improper trigger discipline hidden under his pantsleg, just above his boot.

So....

Are they going to start issuing rucks with the same pattern?

They dont want to put black on the uniform.. Last I checked most weapons are black.

With the rank on the chest you wont be able see it if they are wearing body armor.

Will light sabers be issued as well?

Couldnt hold back... but wasnt that "uniform" originally designed for a Richard Simmons fat boy program...???

The idea that it suppose to save money by using velcro.. what the hell are they thinking... your adding material.. the two pieces of velcro that have to be sewn on to attach name tapes/ badges/ and then the ones to close pockets...

All they really needed to do was relocate pockets for "field" uniforms.. (I never used my shirt pockets with RBA and LCE in the way. Hell why not come up with a better foot gear, one with shanks that dont break.

When I saw that uniform, the first thing that came to mind was the SS meets The guys from queer eye for the straight guy.

Actually, now I'm reading that it will be in one pattern only, designed to replace the seperate woodland, desert, and urban ones. Now I'm less impressed.

Nice finger on the trigger again SFC Mythre.
I gotta wear Pin on badges now???? I hate those things!!!
