Rangers, Soldiers, Vets, and DEPS,
As I stated in my intro, I graduated with a home school diploma. I know from searching on this site and reading the FAQs and stickies that a home school diploma is considered as a GED and is therefore a Tier 2 and as such is not eligible for an option 40. I have also seen some threads where it appears that some people have slipped through the cracks and managed to get the option 40 without meeting the minimum requirements. I have no issue getting the 15 credit hours required to be considered Tier 1.
Here is my question: Are online classes (100 level or higher) from an accredited (community) college permissible for the option 40 requirements? I have searched this site and the web and have been getting conflicting information. I live kind of far away from any colleges and work a full time job, so the online classes are my best bet, if they meet the requirements. If need be, I will definitely make the drive and do evening classes.
I also thought I would at least make the trip to MEPS and see if I could slip through the cracks and get the option 40, but I want to enroll in the fall quarter (as in now) to start to fulfill the requirements, but wanted to make sure that online classes were up to par and if not, enroll in night classes.
Also, another side question: I know its 15 semester hours, but what is it in quarter hours? One site said 25, another said the Army says 20.
Thanks for the help!

Re: About home schooling and 15 college credits
Excuse me for posting here, but you may want to go speak with your recruiter. The information on this site may be a bit outdated, as I recently just got an 11x Option 40 contract and I ship this monday. I was homeschooled for 6 years and graduated with a Homeschool Diploma and full Homeschool transcripts.wolfbrother wrote:Rangers, Soldiers, Vets, and DEPS,
