Saw it on opening day on the big-screen, but the wife bought it for me today and we're watching it now.

In addition, we watched it in our office auditorium (screen is 50x30').

Needless to say, the film is outstanding!

I on the other hand think the movie is over rated. A LOT of historical blunders. Lack of attention to detail and an attempt to make it too Hollywood to reach a wider audience was very disappointing to me.

With that said i still bought it, but it is far from something I would consider a great representation of what happened. 2 out of 5

I have said it before, but Hollywood is the last place you need to look for an accurate portral of history. For some reason they seem to think that portraying the actul event as it happened would be too boreing. When, in acctuality, it would probably be more exciteing. I wish there was a director or hollywood type that would make a historical film that actully happened.

Then again, 300 was a movie based on a Frank Miller comic book, based on an event that was writtin about way after the fact. So in that light, they didnt do bad.

One day there will be an artist that will be able to make movies that are historically accurate and entertaining.

Didnt know it was based off a comic book, well I blame the comic book writer than. Who the hell is he to rewrite history.
It pisses me off, how are they going to portray events such as Somalia or Roberts Ridge in 1000 years? I think it brings a lot of discredit to the warriors that took part in the battle.

I thought Troy, Alexander, and Kingdom of Heaven followed history a bit more, although they did have to throw in some hollywood BS. But I thought 300 was an example as to how Special effects should not be used in historical films.... a 12 foot monster
