First off sir, I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit.

These days it's really not at all easy to branch Infantry from ROTC. The only sure fire way is either to get AG (all male applicants were branch detailed IN this year) or be top ten percent in the nation of your accession year.

So, good job, good luck, and welcome.

Welcome, LT. It is good to know that your heart is still beating.

I find it interesting that it is hard to get branched Infantry. During the Stone Age, Infantry is what everyone in the lower half of the ROTC classes got. I remember it making news when the top cadet at West Point chose Infantry as his branch in the early 1970s.

Ranger Bill,

AV and IN are the two most sought after Branches every year during accessions. Roughly 4,000 cadets access each year and the only ones guaranteed their branch of choice are the top ten percent.

If you're interested, I could PM you the entire process.
