I was in Bondsteel back in the day...Only to pick up my beans and bullets, though. Didn't stay....That place was waaaaaay to nice. Vitina was a shithole, but at least the chow hall was squared away.

Those mountains bring back some memories for me. Not the same place, but I remember the "Mijac walk" being somewhat of a bitch.[/i]

Been there, Done that. I have the same pic of that mountain somewhere in my photo records. I was there with 10th MTN in 2001 and we brought the worse winter the country had seen. Lake effect snow - woohoo!!!

Camp Bondsteel was the best fucking deployment I ever had.....I would do this deployment over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. When I was leaving (KFOR 3A) they had just started putting in internet to the individual sleep areas...did that get finished? Kosovo has some hot women.....does the stump chick still do the laundry service there?

Just caught this thread.

Tirehouse - I was KFOR 3A as well. What unit were you with? Or, more importantly, which gym did you lift at? 8)

I was with SOCCE - KFOR-5B

Best damn deployment I have EVER done.

I am trying to get my ass back over there... 8)

The coffee shop area, near the chapel...

Me down near Strpce...

Me and one of the TF MP guys... we had a father and son slaughtered down in Strpce by the Albanians... here we are looking at the bullet paths. It was an assault type raid on the farm... six or seven Albanian's hit the farm in a fast raid, killed the father and son.

Me fucking around on some rocks... being stoopid. Damn, Kosovo was very pretty.

That place was the most beautiful/ugly place I've ever seen. Beautiful land, ugly people.

My company had Klokot, Zitinje and a few other hard sites. I was in Bondsteel (CO XO) doing the refits and repairs and running logpac. For a while I was in Macedonia when the locals shut down the border. We had to run all supply off of the CH-47s. Racetracks all day.

We had a lady get blowed up right outside of our basecamp. We collected as many chunks as possible, then had the heavy enigneer's use a flail to pulverize the rest. The PSG was SFC Smith (MOH winner).

Like I said, ugly people. I wish I'd have taken more photos. My hooch overlooked the volleyball court. When you exited the laundry (with the one armed chick), look half left and that was our TOC. I sat on the porch when the first lady came and spoke. Great deployment. But, then again, I don't have too many to compare it to.
