Tim,

How come you have "rugby" in your screen name if you are that out of shape?

Also, how much do you weigh right now and why are you planning on signing 11x? Do you want to be Ranger, Paratrooper or a good old fashioned Grunt? All are honorable walks of our profession, but you may want to be a lot more specific.

I also suggest that you don't try to sign a thing without our consent. We'll review the options you were presented and then tell you if that is what you wanted initially. Unfortunately, there are recruiters who will "shanghai" you into something you didn't sign up for, or not give you what they promised you.

Now do some crunches, fatass.

Thanks for your desire to join the military. Welcome, Tim. You are right, you have a looooong way to go. Good luck to you.

My advice? Run at least two miles every single day. Start today. Get good at running untill you are up to four to five miles every day with at least a 7-8 minute per mile pace. When you get to that point, you will have layed a good foundation to get serious about that 11x contract you are talking about.

325!!! For fucks sake, man!?
I'm 6'5" and my beer swillin, pizza eatin lard-ass has never topped 300! Yeah,man!... you have a way to go but it sounds like you are getting a good start. One of the best things you can do is drink more water. Lots of it. Roughly 1qt/hr for every hour you are awake (if you can tolerate having to piss that much.. ) Just doing that I & nothing else I lost 10 lbs in a month, (just gotta work on the other 50..)
Like RTO said, work on the run. The more you loose, the faster you will run, and vice versa.

Thank you for being wiling to step tp the plate and make the sacrifice to serve. All your reasons are valid, but make sure that you do it mainly for yourself (reason #4 should really be reason #1..) The rest will come. Hold out for what you want/need, and good luck.

I want to go 11x simply because I've always been fascinated with the Infantry. Basically, I just want to be just a plain infantryman.

Really ? You want to be able to look back on your life, and say " I was just a plain infantryman ? " Now don't get me wrong, young man, your desire to serve this great country of ours AND serve in the infantry is an honorable decision. But you must also ask yourself if your selling yourself short here.

Think about this .......... 12 to 15 years down the road ..........

" Daddy, what did you do in the Army ? "

If you do have higher goals, you need to run.

When your done, turn around and run some more.

Now, run some more.

Good luck.

Good Luck on your future ambitions. It can be done, when I started talking to a recruiter I was 307, when I shipped, down to around 267. When I finished OSUT 227. I can be done, just stay focued. Its like anything else. Practice and it will get easier.
